UKATA (United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association) leads the way in asbestos training.
January 2008 saw the H.S.E pass responsibility for managing the list of training providers for licensed and unlicensed asbestos work to UKATA
WHO THE TRAINING IS INTENDED FOR:
This course is for Supervisors and Site operatives including general maintenance
staff, electricians, plumbers, painters & decorators, joiners, plasterers, demolition
workers, roofers, fire and burglar alarm installers and shopfitters.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
Delegates will have increased awareness of the nature and properties of asbestos and it's effects on health.
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:-
- Understand the increased risk to health
- Be familiar of types, uses and likely occurrences of asbestos in buildings
- Be aware of where to obtain relevant information prior to work commencing
- Undertake work activities in a safe manner without risking themselves or others
